CARE has been working in Chad since 1974 with emergency and development programs. CARE deploys its interventions through its three pillars: the rights and empowerment of women and girls, resilience and adaptation to climate change, and the humanitarian pillar.

The programs focus on:

  • humanitarian assistance,
  • insertion and integration of Chadian returnees from Central Africa Republic,
  • reproductive Health,
  • water, sanitation, hygiene and shelter,
  • psychosocial support,
  • Management of gender-based violence.

Transversal axes are also developed; village savings and loan associations, the gender approach.
