CARE’s emergency teams on the ground are preparing their response to Hurricane Irma
When Hurricane Matthew slammed into the Southern peninsula of Haiti, it destroyed the majority of crops and livestock. Three months later, there are 800,000 people in urgent need of food assistance leaving the country at risk of a food crisis, warns CARE.
Food is the biggest need, as people’s crops and livestock were completely destroyed.
CARE teams are on the ground in hard-hit areas scaling up the response, which includes distributing hot meals, clean water, tarps and hygiene kits.
CARE will be scaling up its response aiming to provide tarps and hygiene kits to some 50,000 people.
CARE is preparing to respond with clean drinking water, food assistance and emergency supplies such as tarps for shelter, blankets and hygiene kits.
